Group Talk & Walks
Walks for your mind
Scroll down for this year's local group meets for women around Peterborough & Stamford
What to expect
Led by me, an accredited psychotherapist and experienced professional hillwalker, these friendly women-only group walks are a safe and confidential space to meet others with a shared love of the outdoors and /or walking.
You will have the chance to talk and share with others if you feel you want to, but also to just listen without judgement. We will all discuss and agree a confidentiality contract at the start.
I will offer guidance for mindfulness and stress relief in nature along the way. There will also be moments of quiet, for reflection or just to de-stress and appreciate the natural surroundings. It's a chance to take a some time for yourself and be inspired by others. The groups are for women only.

The Walk
This walk is around 4 miles along a quiet part of the Nene Way. It weaves a lovely route from Castor to Water Newton in a figure of eight. It's another of my favourite walks in the area, with the almost constant presence of the river and a meadow passage through the site of an old Roman high street. The terrain is easy going and flat. (NB: There may be some livestock in fields where the footpaths cross, but these animals are well used to people and the footpaths are all well frequented.)
"Take time to reset in nature with this lovely country walk. You'll to experience some special riverscapes, quaint villages and my home-made flapjack!" - Jenna, Walk leader & Psychotherapist

The Walk
I keep thinking I’ve shown you the best of the walks local to Peterborough, but I’ve got another cracker for you! This one starts in the rather fabulous village of Wansford. Crossing the river (that used to have a toll of 1pence if you wanted to bring your honey across in the 14th Century) we strike out across the meadows to Yarwell, another lovely village, before onwards through some gorgeous open countryside to Nassington. Skirting the village we pass the oldest house in Northamptonshire which dates back to the early 1200s! From Nassington we join mesmerising section of the Nene Way, where there are some very special riverscapes and a wonderful sense of tranquility. The woodlands are a sanctuary for birds and wildlife, but before long we are at Yarwell Mill. Where we will stop for flapjack - or even a cuppa from the little cafe if you fancy, before the final return leg to Wansford.
